EU Forced Labour Regulation: from ESG pledge to market ban
The EU Forced Labour Regulation will allow authorities, from 2027, to ban products made with forced labour from being sold in or exported from the EU.
Facts
Even when obligations formally sit with importers or platforms, proof pressure will travel contractually back to Chinese suppliers.
Compliance lessons
Suppliers should prepare labour diligence, recruiter controls, grievance channels, and remediation records before buyer questionnaires arrive.
Legal issues
